Default question about tranny

ok i have a 46rh tranny for a 1500 but im looking to get another one i found a 46rh from a 1995 dodge ram 2500

will it work in my truck?

also both are 4x4 and mine is a 5.9 motor i dont know what the other truck had in it

thought 2500 (gasers) had a 47RH/RE (aka 618) transmissions?

Your 2001 has a 46re trans in it, a 1995 has 46rh they will bolt in place of each other but the re is electronically controlled. So no the 95 trans won't work in the 2001

there both 1995s dont know where you got 01 from but i know from 1998 and up they had 46re trannys

Unless you had the V6, in which it would be 42RE. Or a 2500+ with the V10 or Cummins, in which case I believe it would be 47RE.

the diesel and the v-10s had the 47rh is what i thought

but dont worry about it the guy is a dick and cussed me out for asking too many questions about the tranny and pissed me off so i told him off
