heres the deal, i have a buddy with w chevrolet silverado with a 305. i have a 1996 ram 1500 with a 360.
both trucks are stock, and he keeps kicking my ass everytime we line up.
im on a budget and i want to get some more power. i have ordered a new cat. form magnaflow, and i have a cherrybomp glass pack that im gonna put on. what else should i do???

Take a look down your intake manifold, past the butterflies in the throttle body. Shine a flashlight in there. See oil at all? A thin sheen is fine, but if you see pools of oil anywhere in there, you have a broken plenum gasket. Big cause of loss of power/gas mileage in these trucks, and very common.
The LA360 is a wonderful engine, lasts forever with even marginal care and has very good torque. But HP is not a strong point (nor is fuel economy) in it's stock form.
I have two words for you if you want to race anybody: STROKER KIT...
