Don't mind me I'm just venting, I am sick and tired of dodge making JUNK. I have my 01 ram and I have put less than 4K on it since I've owned it. And so far I've replaced the driveshaft u joints, a thermostat and now I need to replace all the U joints in the front, a water pump, new gear box and new shocks. I wish I could just scrap the damn truck. I will never buy a dodge again! I had bad luck with my stealth and now I've got this. Unfortunately my wife owns a jeep to.

would you rather deal with fixing u joints in a dodge or risking your life when the wheel falls off your explorer at 65 mph or the gas tank of your crown vic scrapes the ground and ignites? i will take dodge and the u joints thank you very much.
I do understand your point =) though I really could deal without all the problems with this truck especially since I just bought it in december. I'm just waiting for the tranny to go out now to really screw me.

had my truck less than a year, about 6K miles and put in $6000 in repairs. I guess its a $1 a mile for repairs.

um if you bought the thing used that's your own damn fault to be honest. you buy used don't expect perfection..... and even if you bought it new at 7 yrs old that isn't bad at all. my old man has an 06 ram with 30k on it no problems at all. my 08 has 3.1k on it and no problems whatsoever.
that being said...........................

It depends a lot on how previous owners took care of it, and you have to realize, these are 4x4s. They will have parts wear out faster than a car.
I have replaced front u-joints, ball joints (uppers and lowers), A/C clutch, shocks, and a leaf spring. As someone said before, its a seven year old vehicle. Mine went through two previous owners before it got to me. You expect no or very little repairs on a two or three owner truck, of seven years? You were dreaming.
I'm going to be honest here. I don't think these trucks are very reliable at all. Most cars have a common issue or two but these trucks just have one after another.

I wrote a long post and it wont let me post but the issues are one after another and they are very expensive issues to fix. Almost all of them. It seems most owners have these issues too.
