Dodge Charger Hellcat Gets Dennis the Menace Wrap
Hellcat is already a menace to tires, which makes this cartoon wrap a perfect fit.
If you’re looking to fly under the radar? It’s safe to say that the Dodge Charger Hellcat probably isn’t the best car for you. Because there’s nothing restrained, subtle, or even remotely incognito about about these bad boys. They’re attention hogs right off the showroom floor. But if you’re OK with drawing a crowd, and you don’t want rely on sending smoke signals from the rear meats to do it? Well, a killer wrap certainly won’t hurt — and that’s the direction that Instagram user swerveonabish went with his car.
Now, I have to admit I’m a little surprised that he chose Dennis the Menace as a theme. Not because the menace concept doesn’t work with the Hellcat. Nope. The menace idea and a 717-horsepower tire-slaying beast go together like the Marlborough Reds go with Budweiser. It’s a great, lighthearted, fit for the car. But I am also old as hell, and remember watching reruns of the 1950s TV show when I was a kid in the 1980s.
It seriously never occurred to me that trouble-making Dennis Mitchell would be on anyone’s mind, like, ever. But apparently, Dennis the Menace is still a cartoon that runs in printed newspapers, which are also somehow still a thing. That said, this wrap is a high-quality job, and designed by artist Scott Kepple, who has loads of killer wraps under his belt including a wookie-themed VW GTI, a battled-scared Porsche 911 Turbo, and this fighter-plane themed Datsun Z. There’s no shortage of amazing themes available for wraps, and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
Aside from the wrap, the trick Modern Concepts wheels, and some cool looking badges, swerveonabish’s Hellcat is mostly stock at this point. But from reading the comments, it sounds like air bags are on the way. And since one of the pics is captioned with the quote, “The road to success is always under construction,” you can bet there’s a lot more to come for this mischievous machine, so make sure to follow him on Instagram and keep tabs!
That said, if I was going with a cartoon theme, there would only be one choice. I would go with a Calvin and Hobbes wrap, and have Calvin in full Spaceman Spiff regalia.
