Hidden “Demon” logo inside the headlight-turned-air-intake? Check. Widened body kit that fits street-legal drag radials? Check. A slick windshield graphic of a Challenger doing a burnout? It’s got that too.

Demuro eventually gets into the cool technical features and mentions the trick cooling system. The Demon uses a water-to-air intercooler for the supercharger but can divert the refrigerant in the air conditioning system to help remove the heat from the system even more efficiently. Demuro says it removes heat from the engine, which isn’t technically accurate, but we’ll let it slide.

‘It’s amazing that we can be talking about a car that does 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds where comfort isn’t compromised.’

Inside, he spends some time going through the unique options in the infotainment system and notes that the owner accidentally set a “best” quarter mile time of 12.6 seconds. Like, merged on the on-ramp and, whoops, ripped off a 12-second pass. Our daily doesn’t do that. While driving the Demon, Demuro sums up the comfort by saying, “It’s amazing that we can be talking about a car that does 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds where comfort isn’t compromised.”

The acceleration is, as Demuro demonstrates, grin-inducing. In true Demuro style, he also points out, “this thing is so much faster than my station wagon.” No doubt. Who could be so lucky/crazy to buy and drive a car like this? A guy named Karl Brauer, the executive publisher at Autotrader and KellEy Blue Book. This guy knows and appreciates cars. Brauer tells Demuro, “drag racing was my first love of automobiles. What got me into being a car was having a 1969 Plymouth GTX with a 440 before I ever had my drivers license.” He adds that he always drove it responsibly, and legally. Sure, just like we would.
