If There Was a Visual Definition of “Macho Truck,” It Would Most Certainly Be This Ram Power Wagon!

Dodge Forum recently made the trip to the great Midwest to partake in the 2017 Chicago Auto Show’s press preview. There, we encountered a true truck lover’s paradise, courtesy of Ram Trucks. Besides showing off some of the coolest trucks in the land, they gave us (and the general public) the chance to put them through cool challenges. Some of them involved towing, payloads, and of course—obstacle courses!

No auto show would be complete without some serious eye candy. And that’s where the Ram Macho Power Wagon comes in. It’s literally impossible to walk past this enormous machine and not be in awe of it. This former SEMA machine owes its moniker to a popular trim level from the 1970s. The new truck is a bold take on the Power Wagon’s reputation for off-road capability, complete with Mopar production accessories.

The vibrant Macho Mango is elevated via a 4-inch custom lift-kit and giant 37-inch x 12 1/2-inch Nitto Trail Grappler MT tires set on concept 18-inch beadlock wheels. Furthermore, off-road running boards, larger concept fender flares, low-gloss black door handles, and a 21-inch heavy-duty light bar with LED clearance lights give it serious “overlanding” capabilities. Lastly, both front and rear bumpers integrate painted, bright-silver skid plates and tow hooks. As is to be expected, black “RAM” lettering on the grille and body sides is outlined in Macho Mango.

Photos don’t do any justice to the might of this truck. We truly believe that this is hands-down the definition of a macho truck. And we’re not just saying so because that’s what Ram actually named it!
