Scat Pack Challenger: Modern V8 Brutality with Golden Age Vibes

Challenger Scat Pack will give you a good time, but you need to work for it

From the moment I started the 6.4-liter Hemi engine, I felt like I was in for quite the ride. The clutch feels heavier than anything I’ve driven in a long while, and the shifter feels very mechanical and raw. Thus, it is safe to say that there is never a dull moment rowing gears with this car’s transmission.

The Challenger feels massive and comfortable but the moment you put the throttle to the floor, the swift acceleration of the 485-horsepower engine, combined with the violent sound of the exhaust, provide you with a satisfying taste of exquisite, raw, American-made V8 power.

If the Dodge Challenger Scat Pack’s brutal presence, fierce sound and engaging driving experience don’t make it the purest muscle car on the market today, I don’t know what will.

The Shaker hood another awesome throwback and a must-have option, is just icing on the cake. Oh, did I mention I’m in love with the intoxicating sound of this 6.4-liter 392 Hemi V8?

Chevy’s Camaro has seemingly separated from the ideals of the classic pony car and shifted towards an all-out sports car. Ford’s Mustang is still trying to decide whether it is worth hanging on to its heritage. But the Challenger is still a proud, purebred throwback to the raw character of American muscle, and if it’s a muscle car you’re after, there simply is no other choice for a $40K price tag.
