With modern mechanicals, plenty of creature comforts, and timeless looks, this 1969 Dodge Charger has us green with envy.

The Dodge Charger is an icon in the world of muscle cars, a machine that burst onto the scene in the 1960s and is still beloved by the masses to this day. But while first-gen Chargers are worth decent money in stock form, that doesn’t stop folks from updating them with modern mechanicals amid the current restomod craze, and that’s precisely the case with this amazing 1969 Dodge Charger from the folks at RestoMods – it’s been completely redone from the ground up, but with just the right mix of modern goodies added in to take it to the next level.

Under the hood, that starts with a 440 cubic-inch Magnum V8 that’s been bored and stroked to displace 500 cubic-inches and fitted with an array of performance goodies including a FiTech Fuel Injection setup and electronic ignition, roller rockers, a Comp Cams camshaft, tubular headers, and a Magnaflow exhaust. According to the builder, this enhanced V8 makes a cool 500 horsepower, though we imagine there’s more meat on the bone in that regard.

That power flows to the rear wheels via a TCI three-speed 727 automatic transmission for easy cruising, while a limited-slip differential helps put it down to the ground more effectively. Suspension-wise, this 1969 Dodge Charger features a Hotchkins Sport setup, with Wilwood six-piston power disc brakes helping to slow the rather large machine down in a hurry, if so desired. Inside the cabin, occupants can ride around in total comfort thanks to a Vintage Air A/C system, ProCar by SCAT seats, and a Kenwood MP3/Bluetooth stereo system.

Ride around the new owner will want to do a lot, too, because this vintage Charger is a truly stunning thing to look at. Finished in a gorgeous shade of metallic green, the big coupe is fitted with a set of aftermarket wheels and new tires stuffed underneath to enhance both looks and performance. To us, at least, that combination of parts makes this ’69 Charger even more desirable than a stock example, but then again, we like the kinds of cars we can drive and enjoy – not ones we’re terrified to take to the grocery store on the weekend.
