Who Says The Chrysler 300C SRT-8 Can't Play with the JDM Crowd?

The Chrysler 300C SRT-8 has all the right ingredients to be a JDM VIP build. One rendering shows what it would look like.

Here at Dodge Forum, there’s very little crossover these days into the JDM world. Sure, we had it back in the day when DSM was around, but MOPAR quickly shifted focus, and built incredible muscle cars like it had in the past. One of those rides was the Chrysler 300C SRT-8. V8 up front, drive wheels at the rear. And great styling. It has all the right ingredients. In fact, it has all the right ingredients to be a JDM VIP style build, too.

VIP builds are different from other JDM tomfoolery because these builds are after quality and style more than just sliding around corners, smoke billowing from the rear tires. According to AutoEvolution, this rendering was done up by an artist known as MusArtWork.

Starting with an SRT-8, the changes are actually… subtle. Matte black paint adorns the outside, with accents of bronze/copper brightwork. It contrasts well, and works even better with the deep dish wheels. Look around a bit more and you’ll see the other visual amendments. A front lip jettisons out in font of the car, but not in an obtuse way.

As your eyes glance farther back, you’ll catch the subtly extended fender flares, and side skirts. At the rear, a diffuser that incorporates the exhaust brings things to a conclusion. In all, it actually looks quite good to us. Different for sure, but good. We know there’s been far worse body kits put on MOPAR cars in the past (it’s not a Bentley no matter how hard you try).

If it were to come to life, it would actually sit well in the tuner crowd. VIP builds are typically carried out with Japanese sedans, like the LS400 (or its Toyota Celsior sibling). Cars from Japan are favorites, but anything that fits the bill of high quality, style, and ample amounts of “low” is seen as a win-win. Plus, the SRT-8 has gobs of power, and no one is going to naysay that.
