3,000 Horsepower Dodge Ram Wheelie Monster

Ghoulish 3,000 horsepower Dodge Ram was bought new in 1997 and over the years has grown into a carbon fiber, blown Hemi track machine.

Back in 1997 the Dodge Ram you see here was a sensible daily driver. With a 5.9L V8 it could make a respectable 235 horsepower. But over the years, the original owner Chris Cadotto upgraded his showroom new truck and added a bit more power. And when we say a bit more power, he upped the ante to about 3,000 horsepower in its current state. That is 13 times what the stock truck could do. But this insane 3,000 horsepower Dodge Ram has more than massive power. It combines it with light weight thanks to its fully carbon fiber body.

This week’s “Wicked Wednesday” is all about this 3,000 horsepower Dodge Ram. The truck recently competed at the Holley EFI Lights Out 13 at South Georgia Motorsports Park. At the event the crew from the 1320video YouTube channel caught up with Cadotto and his amazing truck. The truck could not quite bring home the prize in the No Time Pro Truck class, but it did put on one hell of a show. Let’s take a closer look at this monster.

Power

You don’t need a dyno to know this truck makes insane power. All you need to do is see the engine and the massive screw blower sitting on top. If that doesn’t convince you then maybe when you hear this thing fire up you will understand the power at hand. The engine is a 526 Brad Anderson with MBE cylinder heads. It is hooked up to a Rossler 2-speed Turbo-Glide transmission. It is running 4.71 rear gears. This all translates into a Dodge Ram that can run a eighth mile in the high 3 second range. You read that right. A 3 second Ram. Those wheelie bars are not for show on this thing. It will lift the nose about 2 feet in the air and hold if there for a couple hundred feet. It is insane.

Lights Out 13

Out on the track Cadotto was running in the No Time Pro Truck class. Because no times are tracked in that class it is tough to say if he got into the 3 second range but his performance didn’t need numbers for backup. He blitzed through the qualifying rounds and made it to the finals. That 3,000 Horsepower Dodge Ram putting on a show the whole way. Unfortunately, his luck ran out in the final. The truck would not hook and spun the tires which gave his opponent the victory.

Always Another Day

While the Dodge Ram may not have won at this event, it will be back again. We don’t know what race this truck will take on next, but if you get a chance to see this thing in action, you should not miss the opportunity. Until you can see it in person check out the video below. You will be treated to a full carbon fiber, 3,000 horsepower Dodge Ram wheelie monster putting on a wicked show.
