I'm stupid...
I'm stupid when it comes to cars so you'll have to bare with me...
I've been noticing lately for about a month or so that while I'm driving, I'll start to smell a burning rubber type of smell or something. I'm not sure where it's coming from and it normally goes away after about 5-10 seconds. It only seems to appear while I'm driving on the highway or going somewhat fast I think. My car shorted out and my battery wires were burnt somewhat about 2 months ago but with electrical tape it was fixed I guess, so I'm not sure if maybe the electrical tape I put on it maybe is burning a little or it could be something more? I know it smelled like that right before my car shorted out last time but nothing has happened since then. Anyone know of any ideas where it could be from? |
RE: I'm stupid...

RE: I'm stupid...
Do you have a large stereo system? Does it smell like it's coming from the engine bay or the cabin? You're going to have to eventually find your short or it will start a fire and your car may burn down. Burned wires can mean a short or a large electrical load.

RE: I'm stupid...
I would buy new battery cables except I don't know how to put them on or whatever... which is the reason I put "I'm stupid" in my post lol.
I don't have a large stereo system, at least I don't think I do. It's just a plain ole radio, no CD or tape deck. Hmmm I guess I'll have someone look at it soon then. |
