Default Painting my Dakota

I used my (non-existent) Paint Shop Pro skills to do this puppy up. This is basically what I want my truck to look like after I paint it this summer. How do you like it? Any thoughts?

A nice red (not the weird red that I did up), with black to make the front end look like the Sport version. Plasti-dip the moulding, the area below the moulding, bumpers, and the center of the wheels. I might add a black stripe just below the windows to break up the red a bit.

Looks good.
Almost exactly the paint scheme I'm going with when I can afford to do my paint job :P
Except my grill is rockguarded black the rest will be quite similar.

I tried it with a black grill....made it look like a raccoon. haha.

Here it is with a stripe....I think it helps.

I'd stop the rocker paint lower down and I'd do the grill in black. It looks much cleaner.

I do kind of like it without the black below the trim. Still not sold on the raccoon look though.

I'll just paint the whole truck red and decide from there. The chrome and details can be later. And sometimes photoshop doesn't do real life justice.

It's a good look if you're looking for sporty! I don't like the look of the painted grille on our trucks for some reason. Every other truck I love a black grille. Maybe if the grille was paint matched black to the body.

I did this in about 10 minutes in Photoshop. I want to get 2nd gen Dakota rims and black them out anyway, but for, I could not decide between blacked rims or not. Opinions?

Anytime trim is the same color as the paint/body it looks bad imo.

I know it's not red, but here's my grill after I painted it black.

Were you talking about mine? If you were, I can't make it look right in photoshop but I'm treating the trim to factory black and making the body gloss black.

And although I don't like the body style you have, I like that grille painted black, it looks pretty dirty

Oops, missed where you said you were doing it all black, thought you were still going with red. Black on black will look good, but I hate any other single color combo of body/trim.

Thanks, it improved the looks big time to me. Still need to make a paint pen with the leftover blue so I can do the lettering on the grill in blue.

Colin is doing his truck in black, I'm still doing mine in red. haha.
Colin, I would almost leave your wheels as they are, as the black centre cap works just fine.

I like your truck with the black grill. I'll paint the grill black and see if I like it. I think the grill needs to be replaced anyway....I'm missing some anchor points on it.
