1/4 mile times with these mods

Had anyone with these mods or similar run a timed quarter. 318 93-96 cc Dak with shorty headers, .456 to .480 lift cam, 3.55-3.90 rears, performance computer, M1, machined TB, CAI, 1.7 rockers? Anyone break 15 secs ?

This appears you have a non magnum engine and using a carb. The older 318's seem more responsive to mods. Chances are if you run a 3.90 rear, you could break 14's on a good day. Thanks

I had a '95 Regular Cab Sport that I ordered with 5.2L, 5spd, 3.90"1 Sure Grip, and ran 15.21 stock. I added K&N FIPK (basically and open face round air cleaner), March under drive pulleys, Mopar Performance Engine Controller, an aftermarket exhaust with no converter, and traction bars. That got me into the 14s, with the best time being 14.701 @ 93 MPH at National Trail. That was when it was two years old and probably between 20-30K miles.

Well, I barely broke 15 with a very very bad ingition set up using the stock computer. Should be mid to low 14's after I install EZ EFI multiport kit on the dakota. Running magnum 5.9L EQ ported heads, double roller timing change, m1 intake, 4 barrel efi throttle body, full long tube headers dumping into 3inch collectors and dumping under the cab with a h pipe, camshaft 265 int, 274 exh dur@.050: 210 220 lobe degree sep 112.0 valve lift .512 roller , . 55lb injectors, 60psi fuel pressure regulator, msd ignition plugs and wires. Running the stock 46rh trans with a MS quick shifter and trans pak. with a posi 3.92 rear diff.

What is plaguing myself, ignition and timing problems running the stock efiset up. It hates the bigger engine, goes from highly rich to bone lean through the rev range, a very tight torque convertor for the engine. Also skinny non grippy tires, and elevation.

Any suggestions on improvements?

Do some data logging, and get the tune dialed in. Get some better tires. :) Run it again.

You should be able to at least into the very low 14s with that, if not better. (likely still going to be traction limited, just because there is nothing in the back.)

I agree, you should be running low 14's. I'm willing to bet your tune is way off. Do you have a wide-band installed to dial in your f/a ratio? Your injectors seem much too large for this set up. Put the standard ones back in (many people think they are running 19 lbs with stock Mopar injectors but they measure closer to 24 lbs) and see if your times don't improve.

Your duration is advertised. 210/220 @50. When you say "hates bigger engine" do you mean "hates bigger cam" or did you use a 360? Your efi set-up is over compensating for a very rich condition. Change out the injectors and see if things start to come around.

If you are using the original computer, it simply does not have enough adaptive memory to support your cam. I also doubt the Mopar performance ecm will be of much help here as well. You may want to by-pass tithe computer all together and go carburetor with this set-up on your 95.
