Default What do you think?

Well I have an exhast problem. the PO must have hit a rock or something on the exhaust pipe because the end is chewed off and shorter than it should be. I get a chugging at the exhaust There's also a small exhaust leak, so I will be replacing the muffle and tail pipe for my next fix/mod.

I was looking at this as a replacement:

and this behind it:

I plan on welding it rather than doing a clamp job. Just want to know what you guys think! After this is done I should be in the body work stages and then paint mid to late april! (hoping)

be careful when revving it, even if it is welded, my dad welded one on his truck and one day at the red light he was revving his truck and the glasspack shot out the back of his truck and into the grill of a cop car...

depends on what your going for, sound or performance or just a nice muffler?
last time i was at advance auto parts they had a shelf full of flowmasters and some other mufflers. the only modding i have done to my exhaust is 3 24in 2.5in pipes a muffler and the tailpipe.. I'd have more information but i can't get a hold of my dad till the weekend since we both work crazy hours.

I just want the best bang for my buck kinda deal... nothing pricey. the cherry bomb glass back was cool because it was only 23 bucks, i might still get it unless theres something better in the 30-40 dollar range.

i actually watched a youtube video of a 1st gen dakota running a glasspack. i know videos don't do any justice to different sounds but the glasspack actually sounded pretty good. i;m running a thrush muffler(factory replacement) and its so quiet i can hear my radio...lol i heard flowmasters weren't good for sound on a v6 dakota but its all in the opinion of the user...

I took my truck into a muffler shop and had them cut out the old muffler and weld in a glaspak. I noticed a small increase in power and it sounds really nice.

just some advice incase you didn't know...never run a no muffler and no cat exhaust system. the cat and muffler prevent the motor from cooling down to quickly and if you take both of them away then you get the valves cooling down to quickly which will cause them to warp(or worse). imo, cherrybombs and flowmasters sound really good on these trucks.
