if it is carbbed you won't need an engine wiring harness. but you will need a new fuel pump and some new mounts.

There are a few more links in the FAQ2 in this section.

If it is a magnum v6 to a magnum v8 you can just add in 2 injector wiring.
Tons of V6 conversion write ups in the FAQ2 in this section.

I am looking at the same project myself, the jones, what year and trim is your truck? I have a 92 v6 LE manual and im looking to drop in the 440 bb w/ a 727 because since I already have the motor/trans it will actually be cheaper than rebuilding the v6 with 200,000+ miles, lol. Either way, the "1972 and up 2-wheel drive B/RB kit" at http://www.engine-swaps.com/frames/f...ck_Dakota.html is what I want, right? I don't mean to be a nub, I just wanna be sure :) And how long do you think it will take to destroy the stock rear end on it?

I think the stock rear axle will hold up to everyday driving with that engine. But if you decide to kill some tires super hard launches, then an upgrade would be best. And don't forget to get a locker. NO ONE likes the one wheel burnout.

wow, didnt realize this thread was so old lol, either way, does anyone know about how much the drive shaft will have to be shortened or lengthened with the 440/727 going into a 92 3.9 standard cab, short bed, 5 speed manual, 2wd LE trim dakota?

or, i guess, if the old drive shaft will even be able to be used for this...
