door molding's

I'm putting a door molding back on with some 3m molding tape and I just was wondering if anyone's done it recently/has any tips on it?

The molding seems kind of snake-like and I'm unsure of how to get it on there straight? Maybe clamping a straight edge on there or something and making it rest on that before attaching it?

Any ingenuity here would be greatly appreciated.

Ya a straight edge would do it. Take your time. Take some measurements from the other side if needed to get it perfect. Clean the paint really good before you install it.

I used a 4' level to line up my molding. I lined it up with the bottom of the existing molding on the fender and the back end of the cab and duct taped it to the truck. Then I put the molding tape on the back of the molding, two stripes, one at the top edge and the other at the bottom edge. I removed the bottom edge first, made sure it was lined up and pressed it in place, then did the top. It came out pretty good. Make sure you clean the door really well though, or the tape will not stick right. I used isopropyl alcohol.
