Question Front Air Dam question.

I've read where some guys have removed their air dam on their Gen I's.

What are the benefits?

Is this just to gain access for maintenance?

The best benefit is that if you want more ground clearance, or yours is all damaged. Or you just don't like the look.

In theory the purpose is to send extra air up to the radiator, and to act as a air dampener to move the air away from the tires where most of the air friction is at. So in theory the MPG may go down and the cooling will not be as efficient at higher speeds as it can be.

I have mine removed, I couldn't say exactly if I experienced the negative side effects due to tons of other modifications.

Thanks Crazy, I think I'll just leave mine on. I kinda like the look.
