Lookin at buyin a 93 Dakota with a 318 V8 with a bad manual transmission. Wondering what transmission it would have and if a NV4500 from a 94 360 2500 would swap in pretty easy.

 

You would have NV3500. The NV4500 swap is possible but you will need a 2in body lift to fit it due to the 4500 is way taller. The FAQ2 in this section has 2 posts on the swap.

 

The nv4500 will fit with a 2 inch body lift and you will also have to relocate the shifter hole in the floor and make a custom transmission crossmember.
