George's Fix It up Thread.

Well guys the nice weather is here, which means, its time to start on the little project I've been thinking up in my head.

Plans for the truck are.....

Wheel Swap (Bought wheels off a 98(?) Dakota, Like these http://originalwheels.com/dodge-whee...els-2082-b.jpg)

Already swapped in my real center console from a '92 in the yard by my house.

Big Plans are,

-Bed Swap. Got a few beds to check out this weekend. If anyone knows of a good bed, or any good Dakota parts In/Around Chicago PM Me!

-Front fender relacement. Also looking at some fenders this weekend.

-Looking for a grille guard/brush guard. Maybe a homemade one, I like trying new things, and ive neer fabed something like that before!

- Going to bedline, the bed obviously, and then up to the body line on the sides/wheelwells. For protection, and tough-looking-ness lol.

Not sure what I want to do with the back bumper, mine is good, but something custom would be cool. (Not a roll pan, something tough)

Interior is good, but theres some tweaking to be done.

Already opended a savings account just for the truck. Putting away $70 a week! Should be good to go for June/July, plus I scrapped my dad's old ride (Dont anyone freak, it was a 93 Camry, with a cracked head haha) , and already have some dough saved up!

Im Pumped!

Don't be surprised if you have to grind the banjo bolts on the calipers to clear the wheels, unfortunately you won't know until you hit the brakes for the 1st time.

Thanks for the info. Never crossed my mind.

You may or may not, I only had to grind the drivers side. Only explanation I've got is that the passenger side is an aftermarket caliper and the dimensions may be slightly different.

Either way it's not much maybe an 1/8" at most.

anyone ever tried just putting small washers around the lugs for clearance?
did it on my girlfriend's wheels and worked great... gave me that 1/8 inch or so and clears fine.

Not right now they don't, but thats another sunday afternoon project to tackle.

Thanks for the postive comments, It'll be a lot cooler when shes all done!

- The washers idea sounds like a good one, dont know why I never thought about it!

Some Pictures of my new (10 dollar, Woo!) Console. Took all of 8 minutes to install. Not counting cleaning.

Inside of the console was as follows:

- .45 Cents American, .05 Canadian Eh.

- A map to the Indiana Toll road circa 1972 (???? Really?)

- Literally I **** you not, around a pound of sugar. Wtf?

- 2341231234234234 Cigarette butts.

Thats all.
