Won't start

I have had my Dakota in for the same repair 3 times. The engine turns over but is not getting fuel. Each time it was something different, always wiring related. Well here it is 8 months later and she's not running again. Same thing NO gas. A repairs shop said I needed a new fuel pump but man $841 is a bit steep. Any suggestions. I'm tired of paying and having the same problem return. I want to fix it once and for all. It runs great when it runs. It's a 3.9 with multiport injections.

The notorious spice is one possibility. The FAQ has a good write up on it.

A splice is a where several wires are spliced/connected together permanently. The bad splice is where they used bad soldier and the joint/connection is corroded away. The FAQ has a picture of where the splices are and just cut and reconnect the wires if they are bad.
The FAQ is a few posts above this one in this section.

Yepp...does sound like the 3-1 splice that goes bad.

Pull the battery, fuse/relay box and start looking at the wiring harness towards the the back of where the fues box was. I just fixed a truck (a few hours ago) that had the same problem. The tape around the harness was bubbled up a bit where the bad splice is.

Do check out the faq it has some very helpful pics. Link--> https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...e-manuals.html
