Roll pan help

Hello all. I spent a few bucks on a FG roll pan. i figured it was so cheap i couldnt pass it up. So after some fiddling i finally got it installed and it does look pretty good. Now the roll pan leaves approx a 1/8 inch gap on each side between the quarter panels and the roll pan it self. Does anyone have an experience with roll pans? should i fill the gaps and smooth over....which is the way im leaning at the moment. i like the smoothed look but im worried about cracking or separation going over bumps.

i put a lund roll pan on my 94 dakota and the fit was perfect. i wouldnt fill in the gap because of what you said about cracking and separation or the bed flexing going over bumps.

I know this is. Old, but can u still use tailgate with a roll pan?

yes you can still use the tailgate with the roll pan in place.

I have the same roll pan on mine and yes I would leave it just the way it is as if you fill in the gaps it will just crack when the bed flexes...besides if the roll pan gets smashed some how it will be easier too replace and you dont have too worry about the body work that needs too be redone and painted

K. Thanks. I want one because my stock bumper isn't there and they welded and bolted another. What will I need to mount? Don't have stock mounts.
