Where is the temp gauge sensor location on 1988 Dakota 3.9 V6?

I don't know exactly but I would expect it to be very close to the thermostat. My 94 has two temp sensors right next to the thermostat.

I know that the 3 pin style connector engine cooling system temperature sensor is right beside the thermostat housing. The temperature sensor for the gauge has a threaded stud on top with 1/8" MNPT threads.
