Default RA Long Block question/s

I saw where 93Ragtop posted a link for Blueliner to get a 3.9 long block. I looked at it and I see there are two other options no longer in stock for my year, 94. Another Famous Brand and Exact Powertrain. I looked at the options for the 5.2 same year, and there are only two One Famous Brand and one Exact Powertrain. The 5.2 Exact motor is $597 more than the 5.2 Famous Brand. It can't be the new oil pump can it? I cannot tell from what I am reading on the info page what it is that makes it so much more valuable. Does anyone have an idea what the extra value is supposed to be? https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ong+block,5240

Considering you can get an oil pump at the parts store for around 50 bucks..... I don't think that is the difference. Gaskets either. (I would like to think an assembled long block comes with the gaskets.....) Likely just the difference in price between two manufacturers. Have a look at warranty info, that may tell the tale too.

They don't look a lot different. Both are wordy and have a lot of exceptions without being specific about the truck its being sold for. The cheaper one seems like it is less complex. I looked on Powertrains website and they have 3.9's for $2099!!! and a 91 5.2 for $1800. https://www.powertrainproducts.net/D...ines-s/150.htm
I think I'm teasing myself with ideas of an easy swap or real good deal.

I "think" , when they say, (another famous brand) It is a part that is a brand name, but they are not advertising it. Kinda like generic.

Thanks. It was interesting to look at what might be possible if I win the lottery.

I wish we had a way to up-vote posts. This one would most certainly get one.
