If it's temp related, more likely a sensor has a bad connection, and if it gets cold enough, it starts working.

If the engine temp sensor has gone bad, plugging in with a scan tool, and comparing what the PCM thinks the temp is, to what the actual temp is, will tell the tale.

Okay; maybe, finally some good news. Just now the truck was back to crank/no start only this time i finally get a code, 42. Is it bad wiring around the relay box or is it a bad ecm or something else?

Would my switching the relays around cause that code? say no

Swap the ASD relay with another one. See if anything improves.

Not likely. If the code was there before, then it's a wiring problem. (or PCM.....)

Thanks; i'll take my relay back to napa and see if they can find it this time and if the proper relay dont fix the truck then i guess i'll wait on my buddy to come and check voltages and maybe take apart and look at that 'splice' and/or buy a new pcm if i have to. thanks again

Found the correct relay. i took the battery cable loose and put the relay in. reconected battery and the truck started(for all i know it would have started anyway). so it starts easily and let it idle and a few minutes later it dies. i crank it again and this time i have to give it some gas and it starts only to die again. im sick of this s

Will it stay running if you keep your foot on the gas?
