weird fuel issue
I recently replaced the fuel injectors on my 1993 Dodge Dakota LE 4x4 V8 and it ran fine after the installation but a few days went by and it sputtered and stalled while driving it up a hill then on level ground. After that I couldn't get it to start I had it towed to my house and when I tried to start it, it ran for few seconds and died. It seems like having the back end tilted forward helps it to start but not for long. I can hear the fuel pump running ( its not too loud no signs of it breaking down.) I changed the fuel filter and there was plenty of gas in it... Could this be a clogged fuel line? I'll be testing the fuel pressure soon to see if it might be the fuel pump. I'm just at a loss because it didn't seem to have this issue before the install.
Thanks to everyone! |
If it were me I'd put the old injectors back in to see if the problem clears up just to make sure the new ones weren't failing.

Crap I didn't think of that! That would be most unfortunate these injectors weren't cheap and it was a bit of an upgrade from the old ones. -.-

The fuel injectors were replaced due to it running too lean. They seem to function but they were clogged up.
