Brakes, bearings, and steering parts. Not to mention the vacuum actuator for the cad gave up the ghost.... So, my 4x4 is non-functional at the moment.

Very true...... I don't think it would be hard to get them to discriminate between a wrench, a ratchet, or a socket.... but, getting them to understand the fractional sizes would definitely be challenging.... Of course, the same could be said for the grandkids.
