Red face Transmission Specs

Hey guys, I inherited a 1995 Dodge Dakota Club Cab SLT 3.9L 6cyl from my father. I'm trying to get the full specs on the transmission. All I know is that its an automatic. How can I get the tran specs? I was looking at parts online and some websites are asking for the tran specs.

According to the 1st Gen Dakota Tech FAQ, your truck is equipped with a 4-speed (3-speed + overdrive) 42RH, or, if going by the legacy designation, A-500.

For more information, the factory service manual would not be a bad reference manual.

They can be had used on eBay sometimes.

They can also be had new - on disc from Bishko Books or a number of retailes for Bishko ( Summit Racing and the local Mopar dearlship's parts department comes to mind); paper'$ al$o available, but it'$ a bit too expen$ive for my ta$te$ to buy new.
