Default Oil Pressure issue

Drove the truck home today. Outside temp is in 30 degree Celsius range.
Oil pressure is steady, no issues. Temp looks good. Pulled into driveway and noticed once I was in park, that the oil light was flickering. I assume its the oil light, looks like a oil can. Thats also when I noticed the oil pressure gauge did nnot move. You shut off the truck, it drops, when you start it jumps up to about the 10:30 position, and stays there, whether its idling or doing 140km/h on the highway.
Checked the oil, nice and clean and right in the middle of the markings on the dip stick. No strange noises either.
The truck is a 92 with automatic and 5.2 liter. The engine has over 380000 km on it. It is a 2wd.
Any thoughts?

Mike

My gauge has never fluctuated much when I'm driving around, so thats not really strange. It is odd that the light flickered on without the gauge moving.

If it really concerns you, you should probably start by replacing the pressure sending unit and seeing if that changes the behavior of the gauge and light.

Just finished reading the section in the FSM, going to test the gauge then go from there.
Might start looking for another gauge cluster and rebuild it to run aftermarket gauges.
