1500 software.
hey this may be off a bit but im thinking of a free upgrade. long story short i know that the new dakotas 4.7 is "turned down" for the dakota. chrysler has told me this durring drivability update courses. so im worndering if these old gen 1 5.2's are turned down. if so im considering flashing it at wrork with 1500 software. before i do this though this question is for you chippers out there. did you notice a large gain in torque and high end power? your chips and programs are more agressive than the 1500 software im considering and if you didn't notice a big diff then i know it's not worth my time to try this.
if anyone has any feed back i appreciate it.

No the computer is not tuned down. You can buy a Mopar Performance computer, which is better than stock. What is 1500 software? Are you sure it can work on OBD1?
I have the MP computer, as far as an increase just slight better off the line and throttle response. The more performance parts you got the more the computer will tune it self and give more performance.

i knows the ram software is a different part number (not the ecm but software itself) but i didn't know if it was for turning it down or if it was for other reasons (chrysler doesn't like to let us lonely techs know it all) but i know they did it on the 4.7 because of the torque management. at any rate it's not worth the trouble.
