Question OD and cruise issues. Related somehow?

I'm having an issue that's driving me crazy with
my 91 Dakota 5.2 4X4. The first problem a had was
the OD would work when it wanted to. I replaced
the transmission speed sensor and it seems to work
fine now. However if I use cruise control things
start to get weird. The longer I'm on the highway
the worse it seems to get. When I put cruise on,
it will slowly start to lose speed. It feels like
the brakes are on. After a short while the cruise
will completely slow the truck down to almost a
stop. Now to throw another wrench in the mix,
though the OD is working it will start to feel
like it's hesitating/down shifting even though
the tack and speedometer do not move at all. (also
the light in the dash indicating that the OD is on
will go on and off while this is going) It's a very
slight and soft jerk type of motion. It seems to
happen the warmer the truck gets from driving and
not when I first start out. I'm not sure if one
thing has to do with another. I'm going to replace
the ABS speed sensor but I have a feeling that's
not going to solve the issue. Anyone have any
suggestions? Thanks in advance
