Idling high
Hey All,
Puckdog here. I have a 96 Dodge Dakota with a 2.5 l 4 cyl. Trying to keep it up, it was my dads and is sentimental. Just had a re-man motor put in and is idling high. One shop said intake leak but can't find it. Brother in law ran codes and it came up showing a 0500 speed sensor code but seems to me that would only impact speed and speedometer not when is sitting at idle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Similar issue with 98 Dodge Dakota, 3.9L 6 Cyl...
We fixed my son’s 98 Dodge Dakota from revving up during idle... replaced the throttle position sensor, but that didn't do it. So we cleaned the throttle body and replaced the upper and lower gaskets on the throttle body, that did it! Both were easy repairs, and the gaskets only cost us $5.00!
