1989 Dakota ABS module...
ok.. I'm crazy.. but I can't FIND this on my 89 Dakota 2WD 3.6L LE and I know its there.. I've got the service manual and it has a diagram.. but not helping. If anyone can just u/l me a pic (or several) of where the heck it is I would be very grateful. I have a abs/ parking brake light always on problem... and after having the garage fix the no backup lights (trans backup switch).. and no a/c (relay on firewall).. the mechanic thought the abs module was the problem. Ok.. the tach works and the speedometer works.. so not the speed sensor..
Send me pic!! thanks..

Been there... don't think I need the ABS speed sensor cause the tach and speedometer work through the whole range. Now the ABS Hydraulic Unit I hadn't considered.. Its out of stock and I'll bet it ain't cheap either.

1) Your number of drive wheels have nothing to do with the numbers of wheels that have ABS directly; you need to check and see if you have ABS sensors on the front wheels first.
2) For 1989, the speedo is driven off the transmission via the speedo cable; the tach is driven right off the ECU; NEITHER has anything to do with ABS. If an ABS sensor has failed, you'll still have speedo, and you would still have tach. Again, that's pretty obvious from the FSM.
Try following the brake lines to the hydraulic unit first.
