Can't set doors to auto lock after 15MPH

I have tried to reset the doors to auto lock at 15 MPH, but they will not. I have tried the directions in the manual by turning on/off, on/off, on/off, on/off, then pressing the door lock button, - hear chime, but it never works. Any other ideas as to why this feature would not be working? Thank you.

Using instructions in my 2002 durango manual as I listed above. I am not sure why it is not working. But you are saying your book says to turn to on first then start the off/on pattern. My book says to use a pattern of on on/off pattern.

Start w/off.

i.e.
1) insert key
2) off-->on-->off-->on-->off-->on-->off-->on (leave on)
3) press driver's door lock to lock
4) hear chime, turn off
5) test

hope this helps!

I have tried the steps in my manual and the above provided steps. The ones from my manual give me the chime when I click the lock button after the off/on sequence of 4 times, but they still don't auto lock after going over 15 MPH. Any other ideas or reasons as to why this is not working? I am at a loss. Thanks.

Ok, this thread can officially be ignored now. I went through the steps again and before starting the car, I waited 30 seconds for the vehicle to exit programming mode. My bad. I was being impatient. Now they work! Now my kids are not falling out the doors down the highway - HA!

They shouldn't anyway. ;)
You should have locks that won't allow the doors to be opened from the inside. If your children are that small just flip the switch on the edge of the door to lock them for good. My boys are 2 and 4 and they would have lost me a few doors by now by yanking on the handles.

Hate to think of all that skin that's been lying all over the road. Kids are a resilient bunch, tho.

Glad it's resolved for both of us! (odd, how we both were trying to figure this out, yet we each want the opposite desired effect)

Nonetheless, I shall now feel safe when I'm submerged in a lake.

Take it to the dealer and have them hook up the DRB3 and reset it for you.
