318 360 swap
I swapped a 318 for a 60 over, ported/polished 360 in my 99 durango. I had to change the shortblock, the harmonic balancer, and the flexplate. My problem is the computer. How can I get the computer reprogramed to the 360 engine? Will an aftermarket reprogrammer do the trick or do I need to figure out an oem solution (the dealer--BLAH!!!!!!!!)
I would just leave it but it is starving at higher rpms, and feels like its missing also.

looking through the archive threads and someone mentioned
who makes a good one? any reccomendations?
for $250 he can get a custom ECU im still not seeing a problem.......he obvisously knows what hes doing so i'm sure he alraedy knows his option as far as ECU reprograming/custom setups will run

If I remember all the responses to another similar mesasge post. You will need to replace the PCM. The PCM's for the 318/360 are different. I cannot remember the exact details but I think I am sure you will have to go with a replacement PCM designed around a 360. But seeing as you have a custom built engine, you may need to get a custom programmed 360 PCM module.

I did a site wide search and a google search but cantfind a reprogrammer or aftermarket pcm that any recommends.
Kensai, i realize the pcm's for the 318/and the 360 are specific, and I need to change mine,, my question was can you reccomend one. I guess I will look up this B&G and see what they have to say.
sixty six, to be honest I have no idea if the heads were reconditioned 318 or off a 360. I assume they were 360 heads but the engine shop could have given me 318 heads and i would not have even known. Are they even exchangable??? if so how bad is that hurting my performance? Whatever headsI haveI ported up perfect and polished the insiderunnerslike a mirror. lol
I will seach for B&G.

PS. I have been running the 318's computer on the 360 for 12000 miles now and it works ok with ok milage. BUT!!!!!! I have NO HP or TQ @ mid to high range. I am getting a 16ft camping travel trailer (6500-7500lbs)and need all the HP I can get.
Also, when I rev the engine up past 3800rpms the check engine light comes on and throws a fault code, cylinder 2 and 4 misfiring. (unplug the the battery for a couple mins and it will erase and go back to normal)
