Default 2003 Durango upper ball joint, hub assembly issues

I need to replace the upper drivers side ball joint and the hub assembly on the same side. At 100k miles, is this normal wear? Or could the bad ball joint cause the wheel bearing to go out? I havent had any work done on this truck yet. I think its sort of odd that everything seems to be in great shape on the passenger side but the drivers side is wore out. Any help would be appreciated. Also, the upper ball joint looks like the 3 bolts are riveted in. Whats the best way to go about removing them? I was thinking either using and angle grinder or try drilling them out?

Thanks

hubs go out at random, its probably just coincidence that they went out w/ the bj, yes an angle grinder is your best bet for betting thr rivets out, although if you lower balljoints are still fine your truck hasnt had the recall work done on it, call your dealer and confirm, but chances are they will change your balljoints for free.
