99 Durango stuttering problems?
 

I just bought a 99 durango 5.2 with 130,000 miles. It started to stutter and hesitate at about 1500-2000 rpms only when driving but there is no check engine light. In neutral it revs up fine. So I checked fuel pressure and it was fine and then I changed the distributer cap and rotor with no luck. Another thing is that after it warms up sometimes it starts running rough even in neutral. Any ideas?

I have a problem with mine when it gets pretty warm... I am going to say either IAT sensor or coolant temp sensor in my problem just because when it is cold it is fine...

Wire routing TSB or plugs. Clean the TB.

I've done all that and then some and still have a problem...

Neo1130, does yours still do it a little when it is cold? and what all have you tried?

Just came back from test drive and now it doesn't seem to be heat related. Also i noticed it was popping in the throttle body when trying to accelerate.

Nah, mine doesn't do it when cold, that I have noticed... I have tried all of your basic and even some advanced tune-up parts... Followed all TSB's for my vehicle, etc... Nothing has worked yet...

Popping out the TB is a exsessive fuel problem. Could be a Air Charge Temp Sensor.

Could be your problem as well.

Or timing! LOL! Try starting a Chevy 350 with the distributor 180... You'll not only get popping, but massive flames as well! LOL! Or it COULD be a bad/cracked valve... Seen it a bit more than I have wanted on the 5.2l, but they were also older motors...

Ok for timing would that need a crankshaft sensor or the crankshaft position sensor? And so you guys think that it is either that or the air intake temp sensor? Also, which route would you try first? cause im lost as far as sensors and computers go
