Unhappy Headlight/Steering Column Issues

I have a 2000 Durango, and recently I have been having issues with the headlights not working unless I have the steering column tilted almost all the way up. The dims have quit working all together. Does anybody know what I would have to do to fix this problem? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Pop the airbag fuse out, disconnect the battery and take the collar off around the column. See if there isn't a broken or very loose wire in there. If you can't see it, you may want to go ahead and pull the air bag for a closer look see.

First disconnect the Neg battery terminal and wait 2 minutes for the air bag module to power down as per the Service Manual, then check as Indy suggested.
