Default Error Code P0203

Hey Gang,

2002 Durango 4.7

Rebuilt engine with less than 1500 miles on it. I was getting error code 0601, internal pcm failure. I bought a rebuilt PCM, installed and the error code was cleared. I drove the durango exactly 28 miles and was sitting at a drive thru, when it started rough idling and the engine light came on. The new error code was 0203. After some searching on this great forum I read about replacing the TPS for this type of code. I did this and engine ran fine, but the error code remained. I uplugged the battery and that reset the engine light. I'm assuming all is well now. I find it funny that the problem came just 28 miles after the new PCM.

Well I drove the Durango exactly 14 miles today and it started rough idling again. Check engine light came on and error code P0203 returned. I called the company I got the computer from and they said, "You must have a problem in the injector circuit and now it is burned in the computer." Sersiouly, these things don't have fuses? Anyway, I am shipping the new computer back, I have reinstalled the old computer. I drove 23 miles on the old computer and had no error codes. Any thoughts?

They are trying to tell you that if a code gets thrown then the warranty is over, thats crap!...

P0203 Injector #3 Ctrl Circ

It might be that your spark plugs need to be replaced or the injector needs replaced. What plugs are you runnin right now?

I will have to check on what plugs I am running, but they have less than 1500 miles on them. I put new plugs in with the rebuilt engine.

Today we drove 130 miles with the old computer in place. I still get the original error code of 0601, but at least the engine runs smooth.

The computer exchange place said it should be covered by warranty.
