Default 98 Cruise problem

hi there im new to this site but i have been looking around and you guys seem to know what you are talking about so here is my problem i have a 98 durango with a 5.2L and my cruise does not work at all the light will not even come on in the dash could you point me in the direction of the electrical system for the cruise and some advise on where to start looking for problems

is the airbag light on? does the horn work? if the answer is yes and no respectively then look at a clock spring if both of those are normal i would look at the wires going to the cruise control servo, see if there is a bad ground or a loose connection

you could also look at the brake light switch, make sure it is working properly

The horn works fine and the airbag light is NOT on where is this clock spring you speak of and how can you check proper operation ????

your clock spring is fine dont worry about it, start looking for the loose wires or bad grounds/dirty connections on the cruise control servo

Replace the brake light sending switch above your brake pedal.


If that don't work replace your TPS
