Question 99 Durango Idle and Surging Issues

Ok Im sure somewhere in some forum the answer to this question is in bold black text screaming to be read but for the past 2 hours of searching through google,yahoo,askjeeves...and every other site I could think of I have no been able to find it. I hope I have better luck here.

I have a 99 Durango that once it warms up (15-30 mins of driving), it starts to spit/sputter/stall/surge. I have changed TPS,Fuel Pump,Plugs and Plug Wires...and still once it warms up it does the 4 S's until I kill it and wait an hour or so for it to cool down. I have read somewhere that it "may" be the PCM, or even then o2Sensor. I havent noticed any "NOBUS" codes. The main thing I know is that once its warmed up this happens once it cools off I am mobile again for a short period of time. Someone please help me find an answer so I dont go out of my mind from reading another group of forum threads that never give the answer to the problem.

Thanks

How old is the battery? Have it tested UNDER LOAD.

Second, CPS.

Hello all, I am having a very similar problem with my '99 Durango.
I'll start by saying, I have a brand new battery, less than 1 month old. Alternator tests fine. And I do not get the NOBUS indication.

The day before I bought the battery, there was a coolant issue that resulted in the engine compartment being soaked with coolant. I have checked the connections to the ECM, and TPS. All are clean and make good contact.

The vehicle starts normally but when I try to put it in gear it stalls. It will idle just fine until it's either put in gear, shut off and re-started, or I touch the throttle. After which, I have to maintain the RPM's at 1800 or more, otherwise it stalls. Before I head out and replace sensors at random, has anyone had similar issues? Any suggestions? I greatly appreciate any help. Thank You!

You have a bad battery or bad battery install too.

Double check your battery CONNECTIONS.

Also, where the coolant leaked, check the ground FROM the battery to see if there is corrosion there.

Try checking the coil. And i mean take a good look at it. If you see a crack on the outside, replace it, or find another durango owner willing to let you swap one just to see if it helps. Thats what cause my idleing/sputter issue. Just a thought, since you didn't mention it.
