Smile 2001 Durango

I have this issue with my airbag light but mines an 01 and its the red one in the speed/tach area. My cruise control doesnt work, neither does my horn. I believe its a clock spring because when i turn my wheel all the way around it rattles. I just dont want to have to go to the dealership and get rap3d with the bill. Any input?

I can't imagine this being something that I should even attempt as it has to do with the airbag and all. Could I do it?

Too much work, Ill just take the unwanted forceful penetration of my wallet and have the dealer fix it. I just got off the phone with them and they can't find a labor charge but I will be getting a call from them when they figure this out.

Yeah, they're about to F you in the A. Good luck and hopefully they don't because I know I always hate breaking down and just bring myself to get a dealer only part. Let alone having them work on it.

$250 to change an ignition coil. My wife made that mistake and still to this day I'm SMH.

Even if you have to have it done professionally I would recommend taking it to some other place than the dealer....there must be a local general mechanic who knows about airbags and electrical work....

Actually these airbags are easy to work with as all new airbags are ,I worked over 15 years in industry in removing airbags and not one ever went off ..If yu have the tools , lil know-how its really a breeze to do. Just follow the link that was given here and give it a try ,,Or find a buddy who has some know-how or Airbgs ...( not the Ex-Girlfriend type of airbag)

well the thing that pushed me away from trying to do it myself was a steering wheel puller. Ive never had to remove a steering wheel and I dont know how hard they are to get off.
