Default Fluid

Real quick guys can reg power steering fluid be put in my D. It's 5.2 V8 98. Manual doesn't really say and neither doe my shop manual.

call the dealer with your VIN #, chances are you need the brown ps fluid and not tranny fluid in there.

Old PS fluid is what my 98 takes.

Will low power steering fluid trip the MIL?

NO

mine ran completely dry without tripping any lights in the dash, just got REALLY hard to turn the wheel when the truck was moving slowly.

my power stearing was empty when i got mine and i just put the normal stuff you get from the store... works fine for me.

Ok thanks guys I got some stuff today and put it in but today the MIL got tripped by something and I have a scanner coming to start pulling this stuff myself.

Wish I had a scanner. I the meantime you can go to oriellys and use one for free.

my mil got tripped when mine went low. the power steering pressure switch.. helps control the idle when turning the wheel so it dosent die when it senses a load.
