150 lb. Straight out of the manual is what it states and keep in mind that 150 lb. includes the box/carrier itself. That is why I have a hitch mounted box that I can throw up to 750 lb. safely in before I'm getting in the red zone. Of course you can't always have a hitch mounted box if you were towing something...

Yeah, I have a combination of a hitch basket and cargo bag that I use to haul stuff around and basically use my Durango as a pickup truck. Definitely something to look into if you're doing it a lot because it doesn't affect the gas mileage nearly as much as a huge brick on your head! LOL

That's what I got but I've seen people that just get a pickup truck box and load their stuff into there but that's a little much for me. Truck boxes are a little too heavy off the get go than a cargo bag.
