Code P0753 1999 Durango 5.2 44re Limp Mode No First or Overdrive HELP!
#21
Ordered the PCM tonight. Got to figure out what's causing this problem. After I replaced all the sensors and solenoids, I went to have the codes read. Same thing, P0753 OD solenoid circuit. He turned off the code with the scanner and it came right back on. Haven't had 1st or OD since I purchased this a few weeks ago.
Hope this fixes it! Still have to get it titled, registered, insured. Also both lower ball joints and the back drivers side power window unit. Hope this thing doesn't become a money pit.

I may be a little late, but have you tried to check the wiring harness from the pcm to the trans. My D has/had the same issues immediately following a trans rebuild. the mechanic told me that the wiring harness and connector near the trans gets brittle with age and causes them to loose connection. that was back in the winter, and it is now summer and my codes have been away for about 4000 miles now.

Still waiting for the PCM to show up. If that doesn't fix it, I'll be ordering a new plug in for the tranny and wire that in. Been suspecting that ever since I read this post. Really don't want to re wire that, but I want this thing fixed even more! Thanks for the info, I do appreciate it!

On my 3rd computer from auto computer exchange. First 2 were no good rebuilds. My original computer will start the truck. The first rebuilt computer had a no bus light on for the odometer. The second wouldn't start the truck. Now, I've got a 3rd to test. Unreal. But, I do believe it is the plug in for the trans. I'm going to order a plug and wire it in. Just got back from a 2 week vacation to 9 western national parks from the midwest. Directly back to work after. I'm beat. Will keep this post update with progress as promised. Still not fixed but I'll get it, eventually.

Found the Problem
Found the problem. Even though the Transmission Relay worked, the transmission plug had no power at the red wire #1. So, I ran a wire from the switched on side of the relay with the fuse box under the hood. Ran that down to the red wire #1 on the transmission plug in. Now, I have 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even overdrive! Re-wired the trans plug in too. The computers I got from Auto computer exchange were all junk. None of them work. My old computer now works fine and the codes are clear. Probably could of fixed this problem for free, but I went the long way around.
Side note for those reading this and having the same problem, check for voltage at all the connectors. Expecially at the trans plug in. My Relay worked fine but the plug wasn't getting power through the wire. So I hot wired it. Same circuit, new wire.
*Sigh*
VT247 (at least it's fixed!)
