DSA Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle
ok so i just got the build sheet for my durango from dodge with all the factory specs and it has this, DSA Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle. now does that mean i have a limited slip differential? if so do i need to drain and refill the differential and put in a friction modifier? im kinda at a loss because of how my truck acted when it got stuck but any information provided would be helpful.

Yes generally that means you have a LSD in the rear. If the fluid does not contain a friction modifier or additive in it, I would drain a bit out and put some modifier in it so you don't burn up the limited slip.

is there a way to tell if the limited slip is still good or if it needs to be rebuilt? or to know for sure what it has?

Jack up the rear end... put in neutral... spin one wheel. If the other wheel spins in the same direction, you have LSD. If your friction modifier is beginning to break down, your differential will whine when you turn. It is most noticeable with slow sharp turns (i.e., turning into a parking space or making u-turns).

jack up the rear end and spin one wheel, if the other wheel spins the same direction you have limited slip and its working, if it spins the opposite direction you have an open carrier or your lsd is dead

It just needs to be in neutral so you can spin the wheel freely.
