Default 2001 R/T with Superchips 3715 - Great

With all the help that this community has/does provide with mechanical/electrical/owner failures and problems I wanted to talk about my Superchips 3715. It's great! I have the basics on my R/T (CAI, muffler) and recently installed the Superchips 3715. I have only run the 87 octane fuel saver and MAN, already I have noticed fuel savings! But that's not what get's me the most excited because the 3715 makes my D faster off the line, and it idles smoother and at a lower RPM than stock. The highway pickup is quicker/more demanding, and when it's cruising on the highway it's like the thing is on glass. The only problem is, when I'm around town I turn OD off and it's WAY too hard to keep my foot off of it! I am super stoked to put a full tank of premium in it and really open that pig up! Anyone else got any 3715 feedback??

how low is your idle now? i didnt think the engine would idle very well below the 500 rpm mark (where my idle is STOCK)

also glad to hear that you are enjoying the truck and the new toy

shrpshtr325 - My D was idling a lil bit high as it was, around ~650, and now it's down to normal (500). And to Hydra's point, I think I'm getting ~2mpg more which is HUGE. I'll have an accurate measurement on the next fill up.

I have the 3715 tuner also on my 02 D with the 4.7..also running the 87 octane tune...it does not have quite the punch of the performance tune but I can still tell the difference. I also have a CAI and a Flowmaster original 40 series...I think together it has made a difference. The way gas prices are, think I am going to stay away from the 91 octane performance tune right now...

I bought mine off of EBAY, used...if you end up doing that make sure to find out from the seller that is is not VIN locked. If it is still locked to a previous vehicle it will be useless to you.

+1 on Ebay. That's where I picked mine up at for SUBSTANTIALLY less money than a new one. The 3715 was the kitty's pjs when the first gen hit the scene, the 3815 is geared towards the 5.7 Hemi, and the 3865 is a newer modernized tuner that's updateable and encompasses all of the engines that were made for the Dakota, Durango, Rams, new and old (*disclaimer* there may be a couple engines in there I should have left out but you'll have to do your research if you're going with other tuners/models). With my CAI and Flowmaster like Tshane72 was saying, it totally works well with them. I'm all about eBay for EVERYthing I need. When I need it, I check eBay first. Most-importantly to Tshane72's point, *MAKE SURE IT IS NOT VIN LOCKED* All you gotta say is "has this been reset to stock?" Good luck!

With a tuner you can choose between regular gas or premium gas settings. They also have a setting for towing for a total of 3 settings.

Hydra I would update you on the mileage I've been getting since I filled it up last Thursday but I'm not even 1/2 a tank down yet.
