Default Tranny Pan

long story short i need a tranny pan for my durango! sob is rusting right thru and leaking. i had hoped to take her on vacation mon but thats looking pretty much shot. i need to know where to get one that isnt a dressup chromed powder coated part. just a good ol 545rfe transmission pan. ive hit up every junkyard in town with zero luck. any help would be great.

My personal suggestion is to get a MAG-HYTEC pan it fits,. holds more fluid for better circulation, however they are $300. Outside of that the dealer is probably your best bet, I can say that in mid 2009 they were about $60 for the pan. A Salvage yard will want to sell you the whole transmission.

Go to the dealer today or call around to maybe Pep-Boys or something.

Had the exact same thing happen on my '03. The local dealer had one in stock for ~$42.00.

thanks much gentlemen. unfortunately none of the parts/service depts were open at the stealerships today. i tried autozone, oriellys and advance but not pepboys. the closest being in detroit which is 45 mins away. from the look of thier website they dont carry it either.
thanks for that link 98! ive saved it to my favorites if the stealership falls thru. unless i can miraculously source a pan from now until monday. im going to put off the trip until tuesday. RamTough thats a sweet price. ive got three dealerships i can check on tuesday. im keeping my fingers crossed that one of them will have it for a decent price. your comment is encouraging! those mag-hytechs that you suggested Magic are great looking but friggin pricey.
i cant believe i missed that pan the first time i changed the oil. its not push your finger thru rotted but its pretty bad. tbh i may have missed it this time if it hadnt dripped on my forhead while i drained the oil.
Being that this going to be my first durango transmission work. what are some pointers for pulling the pan, gasket and filters? theres a crossmember that looks like it will block the rear portion of the pan? how big of a oil pan will i need to catch the fluid? how much atf+4 should i pick up?

i think its 8 qts for a filter change, and i would suggest changing the filters while you have the pan off to save yourself having to do it again later.

thanks shrp you saved me an extra trip. i was going to go with 6qts. i hear you on the filters. im going to replace both and try to find a gasket as well so i dont have to wait for the rtv to dry. if i can find a pan were heading out as soon as i finish and leak test it. wish me luck on my quest lol. with the way my luck has been ill need all i can get!

Does the 545rfe have adjustable bands?
