Default Locker or LSD?

I have 3.55s and I don't need anything more, but I would like to be able to get more traction at all times. As far as sharp turning goes I rarely make U turns. I would just like to know whether I should get a LSD installed or just lock my axles together. Give me some opinions. I have already priced a LSD parts plus install for about $800. I would just rather not have to deal with all those fancy clutch packs and what nots.

Thanks in advance!
Joe

if it was me i would go with a selectable locker or a detroit locker. i like the arb air locker... i wouldn't go with a solid locked rear.

I prefer lsd's, just for towing purposes which you don't do by the sounds of it. I don't think you can get an ARB for the D's rear end, but detroit locker are available. Go with the locker, you will be happier with it.

Ok so I looked it up, I now stand corrected. I had read the ARB application guide wrong, I looked at the diff cover N/A. Wow, feel kinda stupid, thanks for correcting me search.

no worries bro... arb is expensive though... a detroit locker will provide quite enough traction for a more affordable option...

if your D is your daily driver do NOT lock it up full time, you will not be able to drive it constantly.

a lunchbox style locker is what alot of people like (it locks when you are on the gas, unlocks when you are not on the gas so you can go around corners without the rear skipping and bouncing all over the place)

the nice thing about the arb is it gives you an on rig air source and you can lock it when you need the locking ability

Well if he is not using it for hard core wheeling then LSD will work the best hands down. The only reason for a locker or posi is to give you more traction and lock each wheel together so they turn simultaneously. The only reason for that would be off road......IMHO
