Default custom rear cargo cover/shelf

recently i have been looking for a rear cargo cover for my '00 Rango, but with no luck. so i just built my own. just used some plywood, 2x2's, and some Walmart replacement carpet. i needed something to cover my hitch mounted winch and toolboxes so thieving bastards wouldn't see. i also put a flap at the back so you could'not see through the back window. it is a 2 piece cover/shelf with the front piece being removable.

You didn't by any chance take pictures while you were building it did you? It would be pretty cool if you posted up a list of materials and some instructions in case someone else wanted to build something like this. That is unless you're patenting it of course, in which case we understand

sorry i didn't take any pics while building it. just used a 4'x4' sheet of 1/2'' plywood and built a frame for the cover to set on. i built the frame out of 2''x2'' trim boards. it's strong and light weight. total cost was about $30.

Not a bad idea, i have often thought of something similar myself expet i would make mine so the 3rd row could be up with the cover in place.

yeah, i though the same thing at first but it would of been in the way of the rear window. plus my winch and toolbox wouldn't fit with the 3rd row up.
