Help!!! 99'Durango Transmission issue..stranded 3 hours from home!
I was in the middle of a long distance highway trip (60-75 mph speeds) when at one point my 'overdrive off' light (O/D off) came on, I 'felt' it go off. I continued to drive into the city of destination (45 mph once in town) when basically it felt like it slipped into neutral (the engine revs, rpms increase, but it goes nowhere). I parked it for roughly 2 hours. I started it, put in D, off we go but once up to roughly 1x rpms, it's like it slips into neutral and will not jump back in gear. Sometimes, if I rev up the RPMS, it will move a little bit, but goes back to neutral. I would stop, and try reverse. It would rev up the rpms but no movement. This behavior has been consistent in D, R, 1, and 2. At a couple points, there was a buzzing sound before reverse worked, but when it did work, it was momentarily. I checked the fluid level and color. Level is good, fluid is pink and clean.

Check your auto shutdown relay in the engine fuse box, exchange it for the horn relay there all the same that could be a possible problem
|
the truck isnt shutting off on him, its not shifting properly, ASD relay being bad would cause the engine to stall out typically, not a shifting issue
